Peres, founder of Multiplan Real Estate Asset Management, secured approval from the Miami Beach Design Review Board for the once-contentious project after modifying designs for the building at 5775 Collins Avenue to include public beach access and reduce the building’s width, according to a press release from the developer.
Arquitectonica is designing the 90-unit, 17-story luxury condo building. The developer will build a 15-foot-wide path featuring lampposts, benches and landscaping so the public can access the beach. Reducing the building’s width will leave about 100 feet between the new structure and the neighboring building to the south.
Peres’s company submitted new plans for the 5775 Collins project in October after the design review board delayed a decision on Marlborough House’s demolition while pushing hard for the public beach path.
